The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KW&SB) has claimed that the supply of water and redressing of public complaints in this regard could not be tackled properly due to cut of power supply of its various offices in the city in the fifth successive day by the KESC. The spokesman of KW&SB said that although the power was still disconnected but the officials, engineers and employees of the board were doing all-out efforts to supply water regularly.

He termed the claims of KESC as baseless and said that in fact KESC has not paid the arrears regarding sewerage and water for last two years, but the board did not took any action against them in the interest of poor people which were already in the burden of overcharged bills and load shedding by the KESC.

He appealed the government to intervene in order to solve the ongoing tussle between two most important institutions, which are fulfilling the basic needs of the people.

It may be mentioned that the KESC some days before had disconnected the power supply of KW&SB head office at Civic Centre, offices locate at Karsaz, WTM of Gulshan Chowrangi, the offices of North Nazimabad and other offices what it claimed that KW&SB had not paid its long due arrears.
